An initiative promoted by the Spanish Music Federation to strengthen the international projection of national talent

Music by Spain, the Export Office for Spanish Music, has been launched with the aim of positioning professionals from the national sector in international markets.
This initiative, promoted by the Spanish Music Federation in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), and the Instituto Cervantes, was officially presented this morning at a press conference held at the Galileo Galilei venue.
Ana Medina hosted the event, which was attended by the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun; the president of Es_Música, Soco Collado; AC/E’s Director of Programming, Inma Ballesteros; the Director of Culture at Instituto Cervantes, Raquel Caleya; and the Director of AECID, Anton Leis. All of them presented the office’s proposed actions to support the internationalization of Spanish music, as well as its commitment to fostering cooperation, exchange, and strategic alliances between countries and stakeholders within the music ecosystem.

In his remarks, Minister of Culture Ernest Urtasun stated: “Having instruments like this represents a qualitative leap in the way we support the sector. These are tools that combine information, funding, and market intelligence, enabling better coordination of efforts among institutions, companies, and artists on the global stage.

Above all, they are tools that democratize access to international opportunities, especially for those who need them most.”
Meanwhile, Soco Collado, president of Es_Música, highlighted the importance of continuing to promote the international expansion of Spanish music by strengthening its global positioning, in what is already a favorable context that still offers room for growth. She also emphasized that music is one of the country’s greatest cultural assets and that its international projection requires strategy, investment, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of global markets, with the aim of positioning Spain as a world leader in musical creation.

Above all, these are tools that democratize access to international opportunities, especially for those who need them most.
One of the Federation’s main objectives this year is precisely to boost and promote the international presence of all the professionals who make up the national music ecosystem, ensuring an active, continuous, and visible presence in the global market.
Thus, the creation of this Export Office responds to the need for a stable coordination instrument, to optimize resources dedicated to internationalization, and to strengthen the coherence and visibility of Spain’s presence in international markets.
To this end, several lines of action have been established, including the creation of permanent professional tools (a bilingual website, a resource map, a database of the Spanish sector, etc.); collective participation in international trade fairs; coordination of trade missions in priority markets—particularly Asia, Latin America, and Europe; and the organization of workshops and training activities.
The first actions have already been carried out in collaboration with FIM GDL—one of the most important industry events in Ibero-America—providing a dozen Spanish artists with technical advisory support and a communication grant aimed at strengthening their positioning and development in the Mexican market.
